The first contemporary art gallery in Arles, LHOSTE has been exhibiting local and international artists, both young and established, since 2010, and particularly supports artists with no academic background.
The LHOSTE in Sound evenings feature a host of performances revolving around music, the visual arts and sound. Encounters with artists, wild banquets, clandestine auctions, magazine launches... enliven the space as exhibitions unfold. Artists, visitors, patrons and collectors mingle in perfect harmony.
Since 2024, in close collaboration with artists, LHOSTE has been developing publishing in all its forms, particularly "made in Arles". In this spirit, a large place is reserved for clothing, with a common ethic in the creations presented: gleaning, diverting, metamorphosing, upcycling, against the backdrop of fast fashion. The gallery has created its own brand, LA GRIFFE DE LHOSTE, with a signature in honor of the city: FE.ARLES.SS (note the ARLES in the middle of this fearless English word, which conveys an attitude without limits or fear).
Defending singular approaches, far removed from academicism and fashion, surprising and accompanying the viewer to make demanding creations more accessible,
that's what LHOSTE is all about.
