The city of Nice is setting up two Handiplages (Centenaire and Carras) free of charge during the summer, allowing anyone needing assistance to enjoy the pleasures of the sea and thus swim safely.
Anyone with specific needs is welcome:
People with disabilities
Elderly people who may have difficulty moving around or balance problems.
The service offers safe swimming assistance thanks to:
A qualified team of beach attendants with disabilities holding the National Lifesaving Certificate.
Adapted equipment: amphibious wheelchairs, pool noodles, life jackets.
Both beaches have been awarded the "3 buoys" Handiplage Label.
Facilities and equipment
For each site:
Signage to identify the location
An access ramp to the beach and a pathway to facilitate movement to the sea
Parking spaces reserved for people with CES or CMI-S cards nearby
A first aid station within 60 meters
A shade system installed for the entire summer season
Showers, restrooms, and a changing area, all accessible.
