Fabien Brieugne, Mayor of Tourtour, is pleased to invite you to discover the virtual exhibition organized by the culture delegation of the City of Tourtour dedicated to the designer Ronald Searle on the occasion of the centenary of his birth. As a tribute to this great artist, 20 lithographs are presented at the Municipal Hall in the Town Hall. His drawings were made for the small local newspaper "Lou Troumpetoun" between 1996 and 2007.
Ronald Searle was born in Cambridge in 1920 and died in Draguignan in 2011.
He contributed to many magazines: Punch, Life, The New Yorker and Le Monde and made animated films. Illustrator of some fifty books and author of forty albums of drawings, Ronald Searle lived in France, in Tourtour until the end of his life.
