Saint-Rémy-de-Provence climbing site - Mont Gaussier - La colo

La colo at Mont Gaussier in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence has seven climbing routes.

1. La générale - COT: 6c
2. La répétition - COT: 6b+
3. Chicken run - COT: 6a+
4. Wild run - COT: 6c+
5. La coulée du grand bronze - COT: 7b (one hold broken on route 5: rating to be revised upwards)
6. La tremblante du mouton - COT: 6c
7. La sélection - COT: 7c

The routes on offer have ratings ranging from 6a+ to 7c.

There are several roadside car parks on the D5 towards Maussane-les-Alpilles.

The ‘Escalade dans les Alpilles’ guidebook is available from Alpilles en Provence Tourist Offices (subject to availability).

In summer, forest areas are more prone to fire. To protect walkers and sites, access to the Bouches-du-Rhône mountains, including the Alpilles, is regulated from 1 June to 30 September.
