How to get to the take-off - Alt. 1 600 m
Coming from Gap, take the N.94 towards Embrun. When you reach La Bâtie-Neuve, turn left onto the D.214. When you arrive at "les Borels", where there is a car park opposite a bistro (very useful for the shuttle service), turn right onto the D.614 for about 700m, then take a small road on your left towards "les Clots". This road leads to the Sapet forest road, which is accessible by car. Follow it for about 4km. You will eventually see on your left the Delta jump and the paragliding launch. The forest road widens at the take-off point, so it is possible to park several vehicles and turn around without any problem.
How to get to the landing - Alt. 800 m
The official landing is located between La Bâtie-Neuve and Chorges. About 2km after leaving La Bâtie, in the direction of Chorges, you take on your right the D.942 in the direction of Tallard. The landing is on your left, 1km from the junction at the place called "Michelon". This landing is not at the end of the take-off. You may therefore have to use an emergency landing but be aware that apart from the "Michelon" landing, there is no official landing site. However, if the fields are mown, you can land after Les Borels or at the western exit of the place called "Les Carles" on the edge of the D614 (see map below).
The site's advantages:
- Level 2-3 for very autonomous pilots
- 800 m of difference in altitude
- Orientation of the site: EAST / SOUTH / SOUTH-WEST
- Easy access to the take-off.
- The positioning of the site, which allows you to climb to the Piolit (2464m) and to fly on the crests of the Aiguilles de Chabrières in good thermal conditions. From up there, the view of the Serre-Ponçon lake is splendid.
- The grandeur of the official landing.
- Dangerous site in a northerly trend. Be careful when the breeze manages to counter the weather wind.
Complementary welcome: beware of the W-N-W wind straightened by the thermal at take-off but dangerous in flight. Finesse 10.
