





The Sisteron-Vaumeilh Airfield (previously named Sisteron-Thèze) is a restricted access public airfield. It is located 10 km North of Sisteron in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (04), altitude 542meters. It possesses one 950mx80m, North-South oriented unpaved strip (QFU 354° and 174°). The airfield is situated on a large plateau which is bordered to the West by the Durance river, and to North, East and South by the Southern French Alps.

For over 50 years, “Sisteron Soaring” has always been and remains currently the essential aeronautic activity on the airfield. Airfield soaring activity is intense between March and October.

The airfield is accessible all year long except when closed for installation maintenance and other events demanding closure. Users are notified concerning closures by NOTAM.
During the soaring season, ACIS (Aéroclub International Sisteron) front office is open at hours which will vary according to soaring activity.
All through the year, however, voice-mail, e-mail, and postal mail will be read on a regular basis.
