This a back / forth ride with a gradual uphill portion at the geginning (135m height difference) and a good downhill slope at the end. Its advantage is that it gives you a bird's eye view of the superb Guil gorges, while travelling a road that has very few cars on it.

From the Guillestre Tourist Office, go up the Rue des Champs Elysées and take the Chemin du Queyron on the right before the plantation garden.
Follow this road to the D902 in the direction of Queyras. Turn left for 500m, then right before the aqueduct, following the signs for "route de la Viste".
Take the first left on this famous route de la Viste (originally the only historic road leading to the Queyras massif, since abandoned for the present one), authorized for bikes and pedestrians only, which gradually climbs to offer your eyes a unique view of the Gorges du Guil. You'll be able to stop whenever you like to take some nice photos without the stress of traffic. The last part of the route descends to the Maison du Roy dam. The return journey takes the same route.
