During the walk, you'll come across the ruins of the old Bachelard mill. You'll discover how the villagers ground grain using the old millstones and the wheels that turned them, and how they made silk.
You'll discover three complete pairs of millstones, pieces of a millstone ‘kit’ and a metal waterwheel. Four of these millstones were probably used to grind grain, while the last pair seems to have been used to grind oil.
The trail can be walked in either direction, and is popular with walkers, joggers and cyclists.
From Uvernet, a shorter loop (800 m) is accessible to shorter walkers. It is located near the wetland.
There are 3 possible starting points:
- From the village of Uvernet, take the road to Pra Loup, the start is opposite the cemetery road.
- From the Bachelard rest area (just before reaching Uvernet).
- From Pont-Rouge (the bowling alley bridge).
