Departing from Vars les Claux, this challenging route combines single trails on balconies, technical sections and enduro descents in the forest. After a break at the lake, it's time for a rhythmic plunge towards Sainte-Marie, between hairpins, roots and spectacular views of the Alps.
This challenging route starts from Vars les Claux, in the heart of the Hautes-Alpes. From the very first turns of the wheel, you climb a single track that winds its way through the mountains on a balcony. After some sustained effort, the lake and the Napoleon refuge offer a welcome panoramic break, against a backdrop of majestic Alpine peaks.
The trail continues on a forest track, then plunges into a single track with technical sections requiring concentration and maneuverability. Tight, winding descents follow in the heart of a magnificent larch forest, where the roots put the suspension to the test.
The last section plunges down to the torrent bed, in a wilder atmosphere. The trail, very much enduro, alternates crossings, tight hairpins and nervous relaunching. The descent ends in style in the charming village of Ste-Marie.
