The tour starts from Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, a Provencal village nestled between two cliffs and classified as one of France's most beautiful villages. The road quickly rises above Lac de Sainte-Croix, with the Valensole plateau in the background.

As you make your way towards the heart of the gorges, the spectacular Grand Canyon fault is revealed, rising up to 700 m above the emerald waters of the Verdon. Cross the Col de l'Olivier (718m) then the Col d'Ayen (1033m) before reaching La Palud-sur-Verdon for a well-deserved break.

Join the famous Route des Crêtes, 800 m after leaving the village in the direction of Rougon (please note the direction of traffic). This 24km-long road is punctuated by a succession of belvederes, offering some of the finest views of the Verdon Gorge, a landscape unique in the world. An unforgettable experience.

Back at La Palud-sur-Verdon, descend carefully to Moustiers-Sainte-Marie.

We strongly advise you to take this tour outside the summer season, and to adapt your schedule accordingly. In summer, the trail is very busy, making it dangerous.
