Medium level walk, 12km (3h30) from the centre of Eguilles, with its narrow streets and stairways, to the vestiges of agricultural life ("bories"), with a panorama of the Sainte Victoire, the Etoile and the Luberon.
Eguilles stands poised on a rocky spur, overlooking the plain of Arc. Who could believe that this small and peaceful fortified village was the stage of a bloody uprising against Queen Jeanne in the 14th century? The itinerary leads through the hills on a voyage into these distant times. You will discover the local "bories" (dry stone huts), cross the Via Aurelia Roman road and the ancient lanes used to move herds to their summer or winter pastures, and enjoy magnificent views stretching over the mounts of La Trévaresse, Sainte-Victoire, Mont Aurélien, Sainte Baume and l’Etoile all the way to Etang de Berre lake… This delightful 13 km walk, bathed in History, is of average technical difficulty and accessible to all levels.
