Start from the lake car park.
Take the road towards Gap for 600m, then turn left towards Le Seuil, then continue on a forest track for 6.7km.
Then turn right up a very strenuous, stony climb, interspersed with three short flat areas, for 2.5km (remember to close the fences behind you).
Turn left to follow the grassy track that leads to the Col Bas.
Return by the same route.
There is an alternative route via the Lac de la Cabane, on a nice technical path.
Back at Le Seuil, you can also branch off in the direction of Le Villard, to enjoy the pretty descent of La Buissière before returning to Le Lauzet-Ubaye.
