04530 Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye
To irrigate the hay meadows of Bouchiers, a family of farmers had worked hard to build a long canal. It collected precious water from the Mastrettes valley.
From Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye, the route crosses the hamlet of Pont de l'Estrech and climbs up along the Ubaye. It then climbs through a beautiful larch forest to reach high-altitude meadows and barns. It then crosses the Débalens woods, following an old abandoned canal to Meyres de Bouchiers, before descending along the Bouchiers ravine to Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye.
