Chemin de la Calanque du Mugel, 13600 La Ciotat
La Ciotat is home to two National Park creeks: Mugel and Figuerolles. Discover these natural sites perched on the sea, which will be an unforgettable visit.
Start the hike by walking to the Calanque du Mugel path that leads down to the Grand Mugel beach, where you can enjoy a meal and a panoramic view of the Île Verte, only 420 metres from the shore. Walk around the top of the beach to a second beach, the Petit Mugel.
On the left is the Parc du Mugel, a beautiful 12-hectare botanical garden with many tropical and Mediterranean species as well as a large picnic area and children's playground. Take the first path on the right to go around the Villa Bronzo and then reach the first viewpoint which offers a breathtaking landscape over the Anse du Sec.
A little higher up, a second viewpoint allows you to admire the domes that make up the Trois Secs massif. Go back down slightly and turn left to climb a hundred or so steps: you have reached the lookout point, which is 82 metres high!
Retrace your steps to reach the holm oak forest and the bamboo grove. Go past the Bec de l'Aigle house, which now houses the Atelier Bleu - CPIE Côte Provençale association.
Go back to the starting point and turn left onto Avenue du Mugel and then left again onto Avenue de Figuerolles. Go down the 87 steps to reach the second cove of La Ciotat which is just as worth visiting to be visited: Figuerolles.
