This stage will take you past many of the fortifications used during the battle of June 1940, when the French army held back the Italian battalions.
From the village of Larche, the route climbs to the Col de Mallemort, crosses the pastoral Vallonnet valley and then descends the Plate Lombarde valley to Fouillouse.
