Departing from Vars, this mountain bike loop plunges you into the heart of the wild, unspoilt landscapes of the Southern Alps. The itinerary alternates between playful single tracks and wide forest trails, offering fluid, accessible progress with few technical sections, ideal for mountain bikers looking for an escape without extreme commitment.

From the very first pedal strokes, the gradual ascent along a forest road takes you through a larch forest, where calm reigns. Occasionally you come across a few cows or sheep roaming free, watched over from afar by the discreet silhouette of a shepherd's hut.

After a panoramic section, the route reaches the mythical Col de Vars, the emblematic pass to Ubaye. From here, the view opens up majestically to the surrounding peaks, with the snow-capped Écrins massif as a backdrop.

The loop continues over several small high passes, winding through the heart of a wild, unspoilt valley. The silence, disturbed only by the wind and streams or the tinkling of cowbells, lends this outing an almost meditative atmosphere.

Return to Vars on a balcony trail, offering a last glimpse of the Alpine immensity before plunging gently down to the valley.
