From the Mairie, go down the D37 for about 50 metres, then turn left into Avenue Edwards T uck. Continue until you reach the Place de l'Eglise. Shortly afterwards, turn right onto Avenue de la Pinède. Then turn right onto chemin de la Batterie and, at the next crossroads, onto route de la Tête de Chien. A car park marks the end of this road, with the Tête de Chien fort, closed to the public, on the left. To fully admire the extraordinary view offered by the site, take the dirt road that leaves on the right of the car park, pass under a short tunnel and continue on the rocky spur (the Rondo- see point of interest). The view over Monaco and the whole bay is amazing. A gap of 2000 years separates the Trophée d'Auguste from the towers and yachts of the principality. The return journey is by the same route, or by the following alternative return to the car park and take the Tête de Chien road in the opposite direction until you find the 604 marker on the right. The path rises a little (marker 603) before losing 100 metres of height quite quickly. At the fork in the road, turn left (marker 602) and continue more or less flat until you reach marker 602 bis. Continue on a flat track towards La Turbie. The track ends on the Route de la Batterie, take it on the left until you find the Avenue de la Pinède used on the outward journey.
