Medium difficulty hike that leads to the foot of a giant which is the emblem of Dévoluy: the Pic de Bure.

From Superdévoluy (departure in front of the Hôtel des Chardonnelles), follow the direction "Vallon d´Âne", passing the collar of Prapérouse and the sign "Les Valonettes". At the panel
"Combe de Corne", follow the path that goes up under the cable car. After 100 meters, leave the path to take the path on your left which climbs on the croup at the edge of the forest. You arrive behind a sheepfold at the "Pied de Corne" sign where you can see marmots, then you reach the Vallon d´Âne hut facing the Pic de Bure. After a short descent into the pastures colonized by rhododendrons, you enter the vast Bois Rond. Crossing this leads to the Pont du Villard. The route goes to the hamlet of Cypières. From there, go up the Superdévoluy road for 200 m, and in the hairpin bend, take the track towards "Valonettes".
You can easily reach Superdévoluy by the same route as on the way out.
Difficult option: Once you've reached the vallon d'Âne hut, head up the valley to reach the crête d'Âne, where you'll enjoy a breathtaking view. Then descend via the vallon Froid. This route is for experienced hikers only. Few or no signposting.
