From La Chalp, cross the Aigue Blanche torrent and then the field where the Reconciliation cross stands, erected in honor of the tercentenary of the revocation of the Edict of Nantes. The trail climbs steadily through the mélézin to the Prés de Fromage pass. The effort of the climb is rewarded first by the small Lac des Clôts in a clearing, then by the bucolic Chapelle St-Simon, a major pilgrimage site in the Queyras since ancient times (annual procession on August 6). The water from the St-Simon fountain is said to have beneficial and health-giving properties. From the pass, the beauty of the view is breathtaking. Further down, the call of the cosy Clôt l'Henry hut and its verdant meadow invite you to take a siesta. Take the track leading down to Molines-en-Queyras, then turn right after the bridge to reach Clot la Chalp (Molines-en-Queyras resort), cross the torrent again and follow the fitness trail, then walk along the Aigue-Blanche to the starting point.
