Hiking at high altitude on the Italian border in a protected area is a unique experience! From the car park above the Agnel refuge, the ascent to the Col Vieux zigzags between alpine pastures, protected flora areas and happy marmots, making the climb fun! Arriving at the Col Vieux represents the changeover to the Bouchouse valley, with Lake Foréant already below us. Along the way, you can meet the rangers from the Parc Naturel Régional du Queyras, sentinels of the right attitudes to adopt so that tourism has as little impact as possible on these protected natural areas (lagoquiet). They are there to share their knowledge of the richness and fragility of the site. After the Col Vieux, the path descends to the peaceful lake, which you can walk around or decide to continue the adventure to its neighbour, Egorgéou, 40 minutes further on. The return journey takes the same route.

In summer, the marauders of the PNR du Queyras welcome you to their chalet on the parking lot.
