A hike accessible to all, which evolves mainly on wide tracks to reach the summit of the Puy Maurel mountain, its telecom tower and its grandiose panorama over the Avance valley and the Gapençais.

Departure and parking of the town hall of Rambaud. Mountain bike route also possible
1. At the Rambaud information sign, turn right onto the rising road and leave the village by the south exit. At the intersection at the end of the village, go straight on until you reach the cross. From there, take the road on the left until you reach the second crow's feet. Then follow the direction of Jarjayes and Malcorps by the ascending road on the left. After 800m, having passed a water catchment in...Departure and parking of the town hall of Rambaud. Mountain bike route also possible
1. At the Rambaud information sign, turn right onto the rising road and leave the village by the south exit. At the intersection at the end of the village, go straight on until you reach the cross. From there, take the road on the left until you reach the second crow's feet. Then follow the direction of Jarjayes and Malcorps by the ascending road on the left. After 800m, having passed a water catchment in the middle of a field, leave Malcorps Haut on the left and continue straight on, keeping the telecom tower of Puy Maurel in sight. 200m further on, go straight ahead on the forest track. This track runs along the edge of cultivated fields. After 600m of climbing, turn right, 180° and continue the ascent on a wooded path for about 300m, then turn left along a field. This leads to a track to the left upwards for about 150m before reaching a crow's foot. Continue upwards on the left under the foliage
2. At the Gros Bois crossroads (markings and blades torn off by an individual) turn right towards Puy Maurel on the E132 track. Pass the buried water reserve and the orientation table, then continue climbing. Shortly after a sharp right-hand bend, turn left onto a track before rejoining the track some 60 metres further on
3. Take the track in the direction of the climb to reach the summit. Go around the telecom relay on the left to enjoy the panorama of the Avance valley and the Gapençais. Go back down by the same route to the Gros Bois (marker N°2). From there, take the track on the right which goes down towards the Hermitage
4. At the end of the wood, go to the statue of the Angel (towards Notre Dame du Laus - 10 min round trip) or continue on the left-hand side of the road, still on the track, to the Chapelle de l'Hermitage.
5. At the Carrefour de l'Hermitage, turn left onto the tarmac road towards Rambaud. After only 500 metres, leave the road to take a downhill track that goes into the forest on the right. This section is shared with the GR 653D and the paths to Santiago de Compostela. Join the village of Rambaud and cross it to return to the starting car park.
