Short walk in the garrigue near Lançon-de-Provence, where you will discover the remains of military constructions.
This walk will take you through a garrigue-like environment. You will find the emblematic plants of Provence such as thyme and rosemary whose perfume will accompany you as you walk. For the more observant, a variety of flowers and shrubs sheltering the local fauna are available. The lucky ones can even enjoy a cicada concert from mid-June to the end of September. This dry environment is very fragile and exposed to the risk of fire. Make sure you respect the regulations in force. You will also discover on your way the remains of military constructions such as anti-aircraft defence flak barriers whose mission was to protect the Salon de Provence base. Indeed, during the Second World War, fighting raged in the area you are about to cross. Other traces of the presence of man in these hills are the numerous fields of olive trees, vines and wheat which testify to a flourishing agricultural activity.
