Avenue de la République, 84110 Faucon
Chemin des chapelles en pays Ventoux - route n°5 - small loop starting from Faucon
"Les collines heureuses" is the affectionate name given by Jean Giono to these lands of Haute Provence.
But before "being happy", these hills of Puyméras and Faucon went through hard times during the Wars of Religion. It's their road to peace that welcomes you on this tour.

Explore these "happy hills", as Giono liked to call them in Provence: that of Faucon, with the path winding around this perched village, and that of the beautiful Jau forest with its orchard openings.

Happy hills, because they witnessed a return to peace, after the terrible destruction of the Wars of Religion in the 16th century, fanned by the fanaticism of both sides; a return to peace under the aegis of enlightened politicians and edicts of tolerance, accompanied by the great surge of spirituality in the 17th century that prompted the rebuilding of chapels.
