From the Col du Granon, climb under the Col des Cibières on a stony track.
Descend to St Joseph, then cross by a carriage road
and climb to Col de Buffère on a track and then a path.
Turn left to cross the slope via the climbers' path (technical and stony). This is the most technically demanding part of the climb; you can push the pace on certain sections.
Once you've reached the Moulette valley, descend via the GR 57 towards the Moulette springs.
Turn right, passing the old mine, before a short climb to the top of the Bois de Saint Joseph.
At this point, leave the GR 50 for a path leading down to the left as far as Monêtier.
