From the Guillestre tourist office, take the road leading up to the Champ de Foire parking lots to the Chemin de la Longeagne. Follow this road around to the left of the Pain de Sucre. Cross the road at Le Pont and go straight ahead, continuing on the asphalt road, which becomes a forest track leading up into the Combe Chauve forest. After a few hundred metres, leave the forest road and take the path on the right, which crosses the wood and descends in a few easy hairpins into the Rif Bel valley. Cross the Rif Bel torrent to the left via the footbridge. After a fairly steep climb (finally, some real sport!!), you come out near the route de Vars, which you follow for a few metres in the direction of the climb. At the bend in the road, cross the départementale and head towards Panacelle on a pleasant path leading down to the Chagne. After crossing the bridge over the Chagne, the route continues to the right as far as the torrent. After 50 metres, a little steep, turn right (fence for the herds: remember to close it) and follow a pretty path along the old canal. Further on, the Ferme de Chagne track appears, which you follow to the left as far as the village of Risoul. Return to the tarmac road in front of the church and, after the large left-hand hairpin bend, descend to the right along a path that leads back to the entrance to Guillestre.
