Lake Parouart, created by a huge landslide that blocked the valley, filled up around 90 years ago. Today, it remains a strange wetland where the Ubaye river flows quietly.
From Maljasset, the route climbs up the right bank of the Ubaye, bypasses the Plan de Parouart and returns to the starting point on the left bank through a beautiful larch forest.
