Route de Châteauvieux, 83840 La Martre
Conquer the roof of the Var! Between the Artuby valley and the Lachens ridges, this demanding route requires careful pacing. Master technical climbs, challenge the peaks, and enjoy spectacular views. A pure cycling delight!
Starting from La Martre, you begin your ride on the D52 road, heading north-west towards Châteauvieux. This first downhill section quickly takes you to the foot of the village, before turning off for a transition to Trigance via the D90 road. The road then winds through wild scenery to reach La Bastide via the D21 road. You temporarily leave the main road to climb towards Bargème,''The Most Beautiful Village in France''. This short but dry stretch of asphalt allows you to discover the highest village in the Var before retracing your steps. It is after passing La Bastide that the real challenge begins: the major climb of this cycling route towards the Lachens. You leave the valley behind and climb up to the foothills of the top. The asphalt climbs steeply until it reaches the ridges. At an altitude of over 1 600 meters, the road offers an exceptional panorama of the entire department before beginning the descent. The return road takes you back north, joining the D21 road to reach the village of La Martre.
