From the station car park, take the forest track north of the equestrian centre (b.93), then take the path on the left (b.94) which climbs towards the Col de Varaire (b.310) via the GR 5 (passing marker 98).
A forest path leads to the Col des Deux Caïres (1,900 m - b. 99), and the summit of Caïre Gros (2,087 m) can be reached in 30 minutes.
Return via the same route.
