An iconic peak in the Ubaye valley, named for its shape resembling a reclining head, the Tête de Louis XVI offers remarkable views of the Blanche, Ubaye and Ecrins mountain ranges and Lake Serre-Ponçon.

Starting from the isolated hamlet of Les Clots, the trail winds its way cleverly between rocky outcrops before reaching the barns of Roche Juan and the mountain pastures. The summit of the Tête de Louis XVI is reached after a short but steep final climb, offering magnificent views of the surrounding Ubaye mountains and Lake Serre-Ponçon.
