A technical and demanding course, alternating between steep hills, rolling trails, single tracks, and long distances.
The route begins with a demanding climb through the forest on a wide trail leading to the Granon chalets, before becoming more even as it heads towards the Lenlon and Olive forts. This section, which is exposed to direct sunlight, requires particular caution in hot weather.
The descent that follows through the Bois Noir is immediately followed by a climb around the Tête Noire, above Roubion - a section that can be challenging after the descent from the Fort de l'Olive.
The route ends with a long descent through the forest, crossing successively the Bois de Saint-Hippolyte and the Bois de l'Essarte, before reaching the valley along the Clarée through Plampinet to Val-des-Prés.
This difficult route is for experienced trail runners looking for a technical challenge. Its long distance, significant elevation gain, and consistent terrain make it a demanding route.
In hot weather, remember to stay hydrated and set off early in the morning or late in the day to avoid the peak temperatures.
