La Valdor is a combination of Val des Prés and Col de Dormillouse, aimed at lovers of elevation gain.
From the Draye car park, cross the road to reach the “Via Clarée” sign at the end of the track. Follow the path that leads into the woods, then turn left onto a steep path leading to Dormillouse and La Lauze (please note that the Pas de la Fanfare path is closed).
The path winds its way up through alpine meadows and a larch forest before opening out onto mountain pastures and the Col de Dormillouse.
The descent is via the Col de la Lauze, Pointe de Dormillouse, Grand Chalvet and Trois Fournéous, to reach Montgenèvre.
Continue through the Bois de Sestrières via the trail along the Durance to the hamlet of Les Alberts. After Les Alberts, take the track through the hamlets of Le Rosier and Val-des-Prés to return to the starting point.
