The dunes were formed with sand transported by the River, the sea and the wind.-Discovery of the Canal of Saint Anthony: The trades of the sea have always been an important sector for the development of the commune of Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône. The canal de Saint Antoine, locally called "the new canal" was arranged recently to encourage the establishment of businesses turned towards the maritime sector. You can observe the recreational craft booming in recent years, mussel farming sector (farming of mussels) present since 1983 on the commune, and finally the sector fishing and processing of products of the sea.-Discovery of the industrial interface: the Zone-portuary, since its construction in the 1970s, is a large site of more than 10,000 ha.
