Departing from Vars Sainte-Catherine, this all-mountain mountain bike trail is for experienced riders. Steep climbs, technical singles and challenging descents follow one another in a spectacular Alpine setting. A high-level physical and technical challenge.
This demanding mountain bike route starts at the hamlet of Vars Sainte-Catherine and is aimed at seasoned riders looking for a challenge that's as technical as it is committed. From the very first meters, the trail rises steeply through a dense larch forest, where the steep climbs put the legs to the test. Grip can be changeable, especially in wet weather.
The trail then meanders along a narrow single track, punctuated by technical passages, before opening out onto open alpine pastures. These sections offer a moment of visual respite, but the terrain remains demanding: roots, unstable rocks and tight hairpins punctuate both the ascent and the descent.
The downhill section is a real test of piloting: stony overhangs, technical crossings and fast sequences in pine undergrowth. Commitment is constant, with little margin for error on some exposed sections.
This is an all-mountain route with a strong mountain character, combining intense physical effort and technical mastery in a stunning natural setting.
