A family stay with full board to discover mountain birds in the alpine pastures. Valid on the dates of your choice, with the guidance of a mountain guide trained by the LPO PACA, optical equipment is provided to each participant.

Come and live an unforgettable adventure in the heart of the Alpes de Haute-Provence, with this stay accompanied by a guide to observe mountain birds: Black Grouse, Ring-necked Blackbird, Rock Thrush, Griffon Vulture, Golden Eagle, Short-toed Eagle, Common Raven, Rock Bunting, Ortolan Bunting… Prepare to be amazed by the wild beauty of this region and to enrich your ornithological knowledge in an enchanting setting. You will learn to identify birds thanks to their physical characteristics: silhouette, size, beak, eyes, wings, colors and contrasts.

Day 1: Meet at 9am with the guide at the Col du Fanget between Seyne and Auzet, along the D7. To start the day you will walk towards the Col de Combanière. Along the way, you will refine your observation skills by listening to the songs of the birds and trying to identify them. The afternoon will be devoted to observing typical mountain birds, such as the Red-backed Shrike, the Yellowhammer and the Rock Thrush. The evening will continue with a hide to observe the animals that come to drink at the pond of the lodge and listen to the last songs of the diurnal birds before the arrival of nocturnal species such as the Nightjar and the Owl.

Day 2: At dawn, you will leave for Lauzerot, a wonderful place to observe from afar with binoculars the magnificent parade of the Black Grouse. This rare and endangered species in the region is very sensitive to disturbance. Mammals are not left out with almost guaranteed observations of chamois, roe deer, wild boars and marmots early in the morning from mid-May. All the rest of the day you will make stops to discover the different species in their habitats: forests, mountain pastures, undergrowth and meadows, before going up to the Cubertin rural gîte.
