An introductory course starting from the Aigle hut, offering one of the most beautiful views of the Ecrins.
Reaching the Aigle hut at an altitude of 3,450 meters, spending the night there and then climbing the Meije Oriental at first light is like a test. At the end, you have two options: mountaineering in the Oisans region becomes your raison d'être for the rest of your life, or vice versa, you spend your free time away from the mountains. If mountaineering appeals to you, there's a good chance that this mini-expedition to La Meije Oriental will change your habits and you'll decide to continue climbing the peaks of the Écrins, with the Grand Pic de la Meije in your sights. Climbing to l'Aigle is almost a race in itself, or the promise of hours of climbing 1,800 metres up to this unique refuge at the summit of the Homme and Tabuchet glaciers. The following day, over a variety of elegant snow sections - glacial terrain, steeper slopes and tapering ridges - you'll climb the Meije orientale, the last summit to the east of the ridge rising from the Grand Pic de la Meije. The view from this summit of the Meije ridges and the most beautiful peaks of the Écrins is exceptional. Let's be honest: we've rarely seen a better introduction to mountaineering, and all that's left for us to do is wish you a good trip! In the final analysis, the guide is the sole judge of the program, which may be modified for safety reasons.
