Nordic ski touring: the other way of being cross-country skiers. More than a ski, it's an ethic. In the face of over-signposting and all-out safety, it's still possible to enjoy the sweet pleasures of skiing!
The pristine white spaces of the Clarée Valley lend themselves voluptuously to the most graceful arabesques.

But the pleasure has to be learned: Wearing specially-adapted equipment, we'll leave the trail behind and venture into the wilderness.
So many gentle valleys, so many tender valleys, so many opportunities to learn this forgotten form of cross-country skiing for the pleasure of the eyes.
Each day, your instructor will lead you to a new site, and finally to the discreet charm of a night in a refuge. You'll receive a warm, intimate, life-size welcome, and the food is delicious, which doesn't spoil anything.
* Equipment: sturdy, wide skis, with edges, flakes or wax, and boots adapted to wide bindings, self-adhesive sealskins on the way up.

PROGRAM

Day 1: Meet at l'Echaillon in Névache, (1600 m) Hameau du Roubion, in the afternoon. Installation. Welcome drink - Dinner - Briefing. The program will be decided according to the level of participants, the weather and snow conditions.

Example of program:

Day 2
Difference in altitude: 550 m - shuttle 30 km one way - 5 h hike
The history of the Cervières valley (1600 m) has preserved it from excessive development. As a result, it has retained its unspoilt, rural character. During our hike, we'll be delighted by the particular profile of the Col Bousson (2154 m): all wide hollows and bumps. We'll be skiing all the way to Italy... to the Mautino refuge (2100 m), with its typical Italian charm. Return to Cervières.

Day 3
Difference in altitude: 800 m - shuttle 5 km one way - 6 h hike
Departing from the picturesque village of Plampinet, which means "the plane of the pines" (1500 m ), we follow the old military road to the privileged Acles valley. We climb up to the source of the torrent (2260 m), after admiring the alpine chalets. The descent takes us through the mélézin, a soft, light coniferous forest.

Day 4
Difference in altitude:  600 m - shuttle 25 km one way - 5 h hike
Villar Saint Pancrace (1300m) is a commune of 1200 inhabitants south of Briançon. Its vegetation is typical for its candelabra-shaped pine trees. For us, it's also a vast Nordic area. After the chalets des Ayes (1715 m), we head for the path leading to the hamlet of Mélézin (1879 m).

Day 5
Difference in altitude:  800 m - shuttle 10 km one way - 6 h hike
Our starting point is Val des Prés (1400 m), home of Emilie Carles. To reach the hamlet of Granon, Emilie recounts in her book "Une soupe aux herbes sauvages", her ascent strapped to a donkey... We'll be going up, but this time on skis!

Day 6
Difference in altitude: 500 to 900 m - shuttle 3 km one way - 6 h hiking
Haute vallée de la Clarée: several options: vallon et col de Buffère, vallon et col du Chardonnet, ....
