Designed for hikers who want to enjoy all the pleasures of a winter mountain vacation: a snowy, sunny valley, hikes that are challenging enough to take in the beautiful snow and explore less-frequented areas.
Programme :
►Day 01: Welcome at the hotel
Meet in the afternoon at the hotel** in Névache. Check-in.
In the evening at 7pm, welcome drink, dinner and presentation of the week.
►Day 02: Alpage de la Gueyta
After a short transfer to Ville-Haute, 5 minutes from the hotel, we climb up towards the upper valley to the Chapelle Sainte Barbe, before ascending to the chalets de Biaune on a south-facing slope. Above the chalets, a vast playground opens up to us in these undulating mountain pastures! We can aim for the small Col de la Colette (2597m), or continue up the slope before heading back down to Névache. During the hike, we'll take the time to see or review the operation of avalanche rescue equipment.
Distances - Elevation gain - Walking time - Technique
700 to 1000 meters of ascent and descent depending on the chosen itinerary / 5 to 6 hours walking time
►Day 03: Pointe Muratière
Starting directly above the hotel on the south-facing slope, we climb through the forest to the fabulous Thures plateau, a classic of the valley, which reserves an extraordinary ambience for us with its vast expanse open to the sky. We cross this snow-covered steppe to climb to the small, rounded summit of Pointe Muratière (2379m), from where the panorama stretches northwards over Mont Thabor and the narrow valley.
Distances - Elevation gain - Walking time - Technique
800 m ascent and descent / 5 to 6 hours walking time
►Day 04: Vallon du Granon
Morning transfer to the nearby village of Val-des-Prés to climb into the Infernet wood. 500 meters higher up we find the small hamlets of Caro and Granon nestling under their blankets of snow. From here, there are plenty of options for exploring the alpine pastures and forests of the valley, offering us a beautiful winter atmosphere.
Distances - Elevation gain - Walking time - Technique
800 to 1000 m ascent and descent depending on chosen itinerary / 5 to 6 hours' walking
►Day 05: Crête de l'Echaillon
We're heading back towards the upper valley today, this time setting off on a northerly slope to gain the vallon de Buffère, which is well worth the effort: the climb is steep, but fortunately not too long. Once up there, however, it's a hiker's paradise, a large valley with gentle, welcoming slopes where we'll find everything we need. A possible (and ambitious) route is to reach a small summit on the Echaillon ridge at 2576 meters.

800 to 1000 meters of ascent and descent depending on the chosen itinerary / 5 to 6 hours walking time
►Day 06: Vallon des Acles
The Vallon des Acles is an area we don't go to very often, and winter gives it a certain isolation! Once we've crossed the narrowing of the Cléïda and the hardest part is behind us, a gigantic territory opens up to us, with an air of the far north! It's an area to explore with your eyes peeled for a glimpse of the abundant wildlife that inhabits it!
Distances - Elevation gain - Walking time - Technique
700 to 900 meters of ascent and descent depending on the chosen itinerary / 5 to 6 hours of walking
►Day 07: End of stay
End of stay after breakfast.
