Château Cabrières is in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, in the Vaucluse department in Provence, in the southern Rhone valley. The property dates from a distant period, since a bread oven door has been found and preserved with a stone size recalling techniques from the 14th and 15th centuries, showing how old the château is.
The estate is on the Châteauneuf-du-Pape plateau, 3 km north of the village and 7 km south of Orange. Here we produce red and white Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines (Tradition, Prestige and Centenaire), red and rosé Côtes du Rhône wines (Eclat de Rosé), and table wine (Chicatouille de Cabrières).
The estate includes 28.5 hectares of AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 4 hectares of AOC Côtes du Rhône and 5 hectares of table wine in the communes of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Orange.
The appellation is famous all over the world for its unique qualities and its wines made from 13 grape varieties.
Château Cabrières has belonged for three generations to the Arnaud family, Louis in the 1950s, his son Guy who took over from him, and since March 2009, Agnès and her husband Patrick Vernier, who have been managing the property with the same aim of making it durable.
