60-hectare family estate, using organic agricultural methods.
Coralie is the first woman at the head of the family estate after 9 generations. Before her and her parents, Jean-Pierre and Pierrette, Eloi and Jean-Françoise her ancestors left their mark on the estate.
In turn, this committed Rhone winemaker has given a new impetus to the Domaine Galévan, blending modernity, independence and “joie de vivre”. An approach based on transmitting skills as a heritage.
On the 60-hectare estate on a single area of land, with 56 hectares planted with vines, all the major Rhone grape varieties are represented: Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan for reds; Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Marsanne and Bourboulenc for whites. The vines are on average 55 years old. They produce grapes of a very high quality and in small quantities.
The soil is farmed with great respect, using organic agriculture on each parcel of land. There's no such thing as a great wine without great grapes…
The estate has never deserved its reputation so well. Located in an exceptional area, Galévan also symbolises the balance struck between know-how and freedom of creation, full-bodied wines and poetic inspiration, constancy and fresh challenges.
A woman of a strong character, Coralie Goumarre seeks this kind of balance above all. It is her daily task: never giving up her convictions, but following her inspiration, without being enclosed in narrow frameworks - great wines, purely and simply...
From the names of the wines to the care taken in their presentation - the emblem placed on each bottle marked with femininity and elegance - there is no doubt about it, Coralie’s highly personal tone is very much present. This wine creator with definite qualitative ambitions is now a force to reckon with, and the wines of Domaine de Galévan can now be found in the finest restaurants.
