The estate was created in 1973 by Aimé SABON. There are currently 90 hectares of vines shared between the Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône and Côtes du Rhône Villages appellations, as well as IGP Principauté d'Orange.
This is a family estate where the greatest care is taken in work on the vines, as well as developing great wines in the purest tradition.
The 80 hectares are located in small, divided-up units shared between several appellations in a range of local soils consisting of rolled pebbles, red clay and limestone, and producing 14 different wines.
In 1967, Aimé Sabon, after his military service, started work in his father’s vineyard and created Domaine de la Janasse. In the years that followed, the estate was extended from 15 to 55 hectares.
Today, Christophe and Isabelle Sabon farm 90 hectares and have made the estate one of the flagships of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
