Covering 62 hectares in a single block, the Domaine du Loou vineyard clings to clay-limestone soils where the harsh climate of the central Var is mitigated by the protection of the Loube mountain to the north and the Sainte-Baume to the west.
Traditional viticulture produces red wines based on Grenache, Syrah and a little Cabernet, rustic when young and revealing their typicity with age. A special feature of the domaine is the vinification and ageing of Mourvèdre. Particular attention is paid to the vinification of whites and rosés - Grenache and Cinsault - with settling and temperature control in a modern cellar.
The Domaine practices organic farming: tilling the soil, de-cavaillonnage, hoeing, a return to "ploughing" or "Loou", treatments using only simple traditional contact products such as copper and sulfur, all of which ensure respect for the environment, the health of the consumer and the naturalness of the wine.
