A human-scale estate in the heart of the Alpilles....
This estate on the road to Saint-Gabriel caught the eye of Jean-Luc Placet, who fell in love with it. He set himself the goal of reviving this 8-hectare estate, where vines and olive trees had once grown. On the expert advice of Eloi Dürrbach from Domaine de Trévallon, he re-terraced the land to improve its exposure. He then planted 2 hectares with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, Marsanne, Roussanne and Syrah; 2.5 hectares with olive trees and 1 hectare with lavender and lavandin.
In 2016, vinified on site, his first wines were submitted to the palates of wine lovers: Red, White and Rosé, all three with the Alpilles Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). The 2016 red is the culmination of this project: a subtle blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cinsault, bottled without filtration at the farmhouse, this IGP delicately releases aromas of red fruit and a moderate tannic structure. Aiming for quality, his wines are already on many good tables in the region.
