Domaine Saint Jean le Vieux

Saint Jean le Vieux is nestled in a magical landscape in the heart of the Var department. This 65-hectare family estate lies at the foot of the Massif de la Sainte Baume, in the basin of an ancient dry lake.
The estate enjoys a warm, dry microclimate with cool nights, thanks to the presence of the Sainte Baume Massif to the south and the Sainte Victoire Massif to the west.
For the Boyer family, winemaking is a family affair. Since 1660, each new generation has been driven by the same ambition: to make the most of the terroir it has inherited.
In 1977, the Boyer family created the Saint-Jean-Le-Vieux winery. And in 1989, the management was taken over by the two brothers, Pierre and Claude Boyer. Today, in the vineyards as well as in the cellars, they ensure the development of the family estate, combining traditional vinification with the mastery of new technologies.
Since 1999, they have been firmly committed to preserving nature, and have moved towards sustainable agriculture.
The estate has been certified under the "Terra Vitis" label since 2002, and under the HVE3 label since 2019, with a view to harvesting grapes that express their qualities to the full: natural grassing of the rows, ploughing and dethatching of the vines, manual hoeing and pruning, "cordon de royat" vine training to limit yields, use of organic fertilizers, and disease treatment based on plant observation.
Their wines express their values and passions.
They have also created two new cuvées:
- Perle rosé, a sparkling wine vinified using the Traditional Method
- Cuvée Fausta, an expressive rosé with Provencal terroir aromas.
