La Chèvre à Mille Feuilles

Mohair is the fiber of the Angora goat. Incredibly soft, insulating, warm and vaporous, it holds dyes well over time, making it ideal for the manufacture of high-quality, long-lasting garments and accessories.
My goats are born, raised and die on the farm. Except in the case of bad weather, they are taken out to pasture every day, all year round, where they have access to a wide variety of plants. Most of their feed therefore comes from our land: grass, medicinal plants, leaves, but also the hay we produce on the farm. I supplement their feed with sainfoin and sometimes (rarely) with cereals produced in the region. They are treated as much as possible with "alternative" medicines, and with plants that I gather around the farm. The males and the old ones stay with the herd and offer us their mohair like the others!
I offer two product ranges:
- the "Mohair des Fermes de France" range: I send my wool to our collective of breeders, the SICA Mohair (Tarn). The mohair of all member producers (small French farms) is pooled in order to gain access to the best French and Northern Italian manufacturers. The result is pelotes, socks, hats, scarves, gloves, jackets, ponchos, blankets, slippers, etc. These products carry the "Mohair des fermes de France" quality label.
- the "Mohair 100% PACA" range: these products are made using only mohair from our own herd. The transformation of the raw mohair into skeins takes place at Laines du Valgaudemar (Hautes-Alpes), and the hand-weaving, design and sewing are done by us on the farm! For ultra-local mohair products: plaids, ponchos, sweaters, ...
