L'huitrière de Tamaris, oyster and mussel producer in the Tamaris bay.
Duclos & Sénard: Two committed entrepreneurs-producers.
We favour short circuits by selling our production directly on markets and at our farmhouse.
Our concept: from the sea to the plate: this means that each shellfish sold from our cultivation tables is taken out of the water of our purification tanks the same morning. What could be better?
Better production for better consumption: this is the principle of action that guides us. This is our commitment to quality in the service of our customers.
Our company is clearly committed to its territory: to the economic attractiveness of the Bay, to the development of the know-how of its producers and to its active participation in the revitalization of social ties.

L'Huitrière de Tamaris is committed first of all to local production of marine cultures in order to offer the consumer an authentic and iodized raw material, and with all the producers of the Bay, to produce in a responsible way and to privilege short circuits for a local and responsible consumption. In other words, to produce quality food from a sustainable agriculture.

Production is adapted to the consumer's needs - no waste - and proximity favors a high level of quality and taste pleasure. The reduction of intermediaries through direct sales naturally favors the freshness of the products and the practice of responsible prices for the consumer.

Our fish farm participates in two essential functions: the preservation of the fishing environment and the provision of responsible, quality food. As our activity is based on breeding but also on harvesting, the major challenge for our company is to participate in food security for all, while preserving the fragile balance between resources and food needs in the long term.

L'Huitrière is particularly concerned about its environmental footprint; therefore, production techniques are regularly rethought to respect these environmental issues and balances, with the constant concern of preserving the natural environment, both at sea and on land.

Finally, L'huitrière de Tamaris, a company on a human scale, is committed to participating in the needs and challenges of the real economy. It has an ambitious social project that aims to promote the creation of local jobs that cannot be relocated, and pays particular attention to the professionalization and qualification of its young apprentices, as well as those who are not so young, in order to offer them a qualification, a perspective, and a lasting job. In particular, our company develops programs in conjunction with integration companies, local associations, and public authorities in order to promote positive opportunities in terms of lasting employment for people who are in a situation of professional integration.

In short, L'Huitrière de Tamaris is committed to a virtuous aquaculture model on the economic, social and environmental levels!
  • Ils s'engagent
The social aspect: by encouraging intercultural tolerance and respect for regional lifestyles.
The environmental aspect: by placing the preservation of nature at the heart of tourism development and supporting the safeguarding of its natural resources.
The economic aspect: by applying a fair share of the economic spin-offs from tourism and viable, sustainable employability.
