Mas du Grand Gageron, 13200 Arles
A mas lost in the middle of the lush Camargue, hundreds of hectares of saltbush, tamarisk, marshes, bulls (Rami has twice been "Biou d'Or"), horses, arenas... You're at the Mas des Bernacles. In two vast, completely renovated rooms, Jacques Mailhan can accommodate from 30 to 200 people, by reservation of course. Several menus are available, with a wide range of options. The owner can also organize a full-day event to help you discover the Camargue and its traditions. An important detail: traditional menus are prepared using Jacques Mailhan's own organic rice and AOC bull meat.
  • Ils s'engagent
The Mas des Bernacles perpetuates the unique culture and identity of the manadiers and gardians. Anchored in the wilds of the Camargue since 1954, the Mailhan manade is a benchmark in bull breeding. Today, 450 bulls graze freely on the farm's land; the future "cocardiers" who will shine in the arenas will be selected from among the most valiant. While the gardians also tend to the more recently introduced herds of organic Angus cows, the traditional breeding of Camargue horses remains another great specialty of this family-run farm.
The Camargue Days organized on site open the doors to a picturesque and singular world.
