The Arvieux ski resort is located in the Queyras valley in the Hautes-Alpes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. In summer and winter, it is a great place to enjoy many activities in an exceptional setting. Located at the base of the Col d’Izoard, in the La Chalp d’Arvieux hamlet, this family ski resort offers a skiing area at altitudes between 1680m to 2105m in the winter season. In summer, visitors can enjoy hiking or bike riding in the mountain.

Skiing and winter sports in Arvieux

Arvieux is an authentic family resort adapted to kids and beginners. It is also a great playground for experienced skiers. Nearly 15 kilometers of slopes including green, blue, red and black slopes are accessible by ski lifts (platter lifts and chair lifts). If you are a beginner, you can practice in the large snow front at the bottom of the resort and take a lesson at the ESF of Arvieux (French Ski School) to improve your skills: alpine skiing, snowboarding, nordic skiing, ski touring, snowshoeing…

You can also discover the Queyras summits by ski touring wild valleys and preserved areas. This activity is popular among the beginners and the more experienced. More than 45 kilometers of Nordic trails winding through larch and pine forests will take you to breathtaking panoramas!

Summer outdoor in Arvieux

Nicknamed the Val d’Azur, the Arvieux Valley is an exceptional site housing the alpine chalets of Clapeyto and Furfande. You can discover them during a hike or a mountain bike ride. The Netherlands-Mediterranean GR5 and the “Tour du Queyras” GR58 cross and offer many marked trails that will lead you to Lake Souliers and Roue Lake.

Amateur or experienced cyclists can ride Col Agnel or the Izoard Col and its famous site of the Casse Déserte, well known by the cyclists of the Tour de France. If you prefer mountain biking, you can ride in the Queyras Bike Parks.

Perched at an altitude of 1,540 meters and crossed by the Aigue d’Arvieux torrent, the village of Arvieux is made of the Le Bourg capital and many hamlets:

Whatever season you stay in Arvieux, discover Les Moulins hamlet’s mill, built in the XIVth century and which has been restored by the Regional Natural Park of Queyras. In the XVIIIth century, there were nearly 14 mills in Arvieux. During your visit discover the reconstructed classroom of the Brunissard school where you will be able to see the teacher’s and students’ desks as well as the old maps, pens and inkwells that were used then.

The religious heritage is also important in Arvieux, as it is in many mountain villages. Visit the church of Arvieux that was built in the XVIth century and classified as a Historical Monument. At Les Escoyères, you can also discover the Sainte Marie Madeleine chapel.
