The charming resort of Mont Serein in the Mont Ventoux belongs to the town of Beaumont du Ventoux, in the Vaucluse department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. The village is close to Malaucène, Vaison la Romaine, Avignon, Orange and you can easily get to the Luberon and the Mediterranean Sea from there. The Mont Ventoux, also called the Giant of Provence, is particularly known for its zigzags attracting cyclists, especially during the Tour de France. It is located at an altitude of 1,909 meters and there is an observatory at the top. The family resort of Mont Serein is located on its north face. In winter and in summer, it offers many outdoor activities such as downhill skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, mountain biking…

Winter in the Mont Ventoux

The Mont Serein resort offers 12 kilometers of downhill ski slopes that reach 1,909 meters of altitude. Accessible by ski lifts and conveyor belt for children, the slopes are a great playground for beginners and experienced skiers. During the snowiest winters, the resort also sets up a snowpark between the Crêtes and Gros Pin ski lifts. To satisfy the desires of the entire family, children can have fun in the kindergarten, an enclosed and secure area. They will be able to experience for the first time skiing and sledding under the supervision of their parents.

Although downhill skiing is the main activity of the resort in winter, it is also possible to go snowsheing on 3 different circuits, adapted to everyone. You will appreciate the viewpoints on the surrounding plains. In the heart of an exceptional area in the middle of the mountains, you will be able to relax and recharge your batteries.

Summer at Mont Ventoux

Far from the hot plains, the Mont Ventoux is a real paradise in summer. You can practice many sports and activities there such as cycling, trailing, paragliding… Thrill seekers? Come down the slopes the unusual way on a buoy or a non-motorized kart. If you want to try these activities go to the “Tubing slope” or at “the Dévalkart”. You will also be to go horse riding in the moutain, or ride an electric mountain scooter. You can also go on a treetop adventure course. Sportspersons will be glad to have so many options to choose from during their vacation.

There are many hiking trails from 2 to 9 kilometers. On your way, you will find viewpoints indicators that will help you contemplate the panoramas and discover the area with your family. Experienced hikers will be able to take the two GRs crossing the Mont Serein resort: the GR4, which goes directly to the top of Mont Ventoux, and the GR9. Along the way, you will find nice places where you can enjoy a quiet break.
