The Serre Eyraud ski resort is attached to the town of Orcières and overlooks the Champsaur valley in the Hautes Alpes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. Serre Eyraud is a small resort with a family atmosphere. In winter and in summer, the mountain village offers a wide choice of activities such as skiing or hiking. In Serre Eyraud, there is an authentic and friendly atmosphere. Located 1,500 meters above sea level, at the base of the slopes, it is the smallest ski resort in Champsaur. This is an ideal destination for a vacation with friends or family.

Skiing and other winter sports in Serre Eyraud

The ski area in the Serre Eyraud resort reaches the base of la Petite Autane. It is adapted to downill skiers of all levels and offers 12 kilometers of green and blue slopes for beginners and red and black slopes for more experienced skiers. They are accessible by the ski lifts (drag lifts). Everyone can enjoy skiing in the Serre Eyraud ski area. Forests, reliefs, bumps make it a perfect playground. On the snow front, children can have fun sledding, enjoy skiing for the first time or take the practice ski lift. Thanks to its north/north-east orientation, the resort offers high-quality snow in winter. Moreover, the slopes are surrounded by trees, which protect them from the wind. If you prefer ski touring to downhill skiing, from Serre Eyraud, you can ski tour to the Col du Seigneur, the Col de Combeau, La Reculas or the Grande Autane. There are many itineraries that will take you there.

Summer outdoor in Serre Eyraud

In summer, the destination offers a great variety of activities for you to enjoy. Serre Eyraud is the starting point of many hikes to the Écrins National Park, the Champsaur valley and the Valgaudemar valley. If you get to Orcières, you will also have access to many nature hikes. Hike in the north-facing side of the forest or go climbing to the 3000-meter high summits. Along the way, you may be lucky enough to come across a chamois or a marmot.

In this part of the Southern Alps, mountain biking is also very popular. Different trails are adapted to beginners or experienced riders. Take the ski lifts (telemix) of Orcières Merlette to get to the bike trails that wind through the mountain.

The via ferrata of the Rocher d’Arthouze is located between the hamlets of Archinard and Serre Eyraud. It is popular among climbing and via ferrata enthusiasts. The site welcomes hikers of all level. It is perfectly equipped and accessible to 6 years old up with a cable and metal steps.
