The top destination for ecotourism

Natural areas are essential destinations for those who are interested in sustainable tourism. Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur is home to many of these areas, which have activities, lodging and restaurants that are committed to this approach. You can find them via the eco-label system, an essential for responsible holidays.

Valeurs Parc Naturel Régional

Shop Local

The “Valeurs Parc Naturel Régional” collective brand, developed by the Regional Natural Parks, promotes local businesses through three strong values : people, environment preservation and attachment to the territory. Agricultural, food and craft products and tourist services in particular are eligible for this brand to promote soft, authentic and responsible tourism. By choosing “Valeurs Parc Naturel Régional” providers, you help sustain and maintain the area that you are visiting.

Esprit Parc National

A Brand Inspired by Nature

The “Esprit Parc National” (National Park Spirit) label is awarded to service providers committed to offering eco-aware experiences and sharing national park values : a pledge reflected in a range of offerings, from ecotourism holidays to accommodation, nature-based activities and the promotion of sustainable agricultural produce. Inspired by nature, this unique approach fosters off-the-beaten-track experiences, such as night hikes under the starry skies of the Mercantour, discovery tours of the Calanques fjords in a traditional schooner, nature cycling tours of Porquerolles island or visits to the Alpine Botanical Garden in the Ecrins mountain range.

Other “Eco-labels”

That Move Towards Responsible Tourism

Other certifications, labels and brands are committed to responsible tourism, in natural areas as well as elsewhere in the South. Look out for Ecogîte and Ecogeste labels of Gîtes de France, as well as the Gîte Panda label, co-created with WWF-France, for guest rooms and holiday rentals; Via Natura for campsites; Clef Verte, the first international environmental label in hotel and catering; Hotels au Naturel, hotels on a human scale located in exceptional natural areas; and the European Ecolabel, recognised by all member countries of the European Union.
